©2015 This piece was a commission by Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital for their permanent Healing Arts Collection. The technique is raw edge applique with fabric inks. The bottom water portion is done with the inks as well as several areas to give depth and detail. The center portion of the image is 25”x25” and has most of the thread work done here.

©2015 This piece was a commission by Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital for their permanent Healing Arts Collection. The technique is raw edge applique with fabric inks for detail and shadowing. The center portion of the image is 25”x25” and has most of the thread work done here. The turtles on the lower rock area had their heads, tails and legs done entirely in thread with free-motion quilting. The fence is entirely done with thread except for the three posts.

Comments: This was created entirely using multiples of 3” from nine swatches of beautifully hand-dyed fabrics 6”x21.” I created a pattern to use every single inch of all the pieces together in one piece....

Designed, Created and Quilted 2009. Stitching is done using free motion on the borders of the quilt in a stipple pattern. The corners were of a design for the small squares. The bricks were done with a straight stitch about ¼” in from the edge in a color-coordinating metallic thread on random bricks to add a little sparkle.

Designed, Pieced and Quilted 2006 Showing the stitching done free-motion for the ‘flowey leaves’ around the stem. The stem was appliqued on. The small border color was to match the flower and the outer border was to tie in with all the dominant colors of the quilt.

Designed, Created, and Quilted 2009. Comments: Using the concept of the Bargello design used in needlepoint patterns, I created this pattern to make use of all the rainbow assortment of fruit fabrics I had acquired. The border consists of each fabric in order and ends up perfectly.

Utilizing a panel for the center and adding the borders made this a perfect quilt for my youngest nephew. I made matching pillows in flannel that are two sided. This shows the coordinating dark green side.

I found some wonderful space fabric including some red Mars looking print and fussy-cut the block centers. Around the border I fussy-cut from a small piece that had some cool detail images which worked well. I machine-appliqued those on.
